Please tell your story as briefly as possible. You will remain anonymous unless you sign your name.

  • Your story should include the following information:
  • Are you a casino employee or patron?
  • If you are an employee, what position do you hold – dealer, cashier, security, etc?
  • How long have you worked in a casino?
  • Why do you want the casinos in Illinois to remain smoke free?
  • It is helpful if you include the name of the casino you work in/patronize, but not necessary.

Some suggested talking points for casino employees:

  • Have you ever signed a waiver stating that you are willing to work in a smoky environment?
  • If your employer asked you to sign such a waiver, and you refused, what would happen?
  • Are you concerned about being exposed to secondhand smoke?
  • If you were a casino employee when smoking was allowed (prior to 1/1/2008) – did it cause any problems among customers?
  • If separate smoking & non-smoking rooms were available in the casino would you have a choice where to work?
